When Eliza first walked into the studio, she wasn’t too sure about me. She clung tight to her momma, watching carefully as I set things up. And honestly—that’s perfectly okay. Every little one comes in with their own personality, and my goal is always to meet them right where they are.
With just a smidge of bribery (thank goodness for snacks and giggles!) and a whole lot of silliness, Eliza started to warm up. Before long, those sweet smiles came pouring out, and what was supposed to be a simple heirloom session turned into something so much more—a personality session.
We played her favorite Disney songs, and she lit up instantly. Soon she was jamming, showing off her playful spirit, and filling the room with laughter. She even wanted to bring in her comfort bunnies for a few portraits, and of course, we made that happen. I always say—if something makes your little one feel safe and happy, it belongs in the session too. Those snuggly bunnies made the portraits even more personal and true to her.
Her mom and I had the best time chatting while Eliza danced and posed, and by the end of our time together, we had captured everything from quiet sweetness to full-blown giggles. It’s sessions like this that remind me why I love photographing children—their personalities shine in the most beautiful ways when given the space to just be themselves.
