The One-Year Milestone Session.
It somehow feels like just yesterday that sweet Annika was tiny enough to fit snugly in her parents’ arms, and now here she is—standing tall, full of personality, and officially celebrating her very first birthday!
When Annika’s mom reached out, she wanted something simple yet adorable that truly highlighted this milestone moment. We planned her setup with soft pinks and ivory at its heart, accented with touches of mint and baby blue. The combination created a fresh, feminine, and fun look—just what her family envisioned.
Her mom even purchased the sweetest little outfit for her one-year milestone session, and I think it couldn’t have been more perfect. From the moment Annika came into the studio, she was all smiles (as always!) and made my job easy. She’s the type of baby that lights up a room—curious, playful, and with that sparkle in her eyes that makes you fall in love instantly.
We started with some simple portraits, letting her personality shine while she played with confetti and peeked up in wonder. Then, of course, came the balloons, the glowing “ONE” sign, and the cake. Watching Annika dig into her cake was just as sweet as the frosting itself. Her joy was contagious, and we all laughed as she happily enjoyed every bite. To top things off, she splashed around in a tiny tub, grinning ear to ear—it was the perfect ending to a perfect celebration.
Annika’s mom described her family as loving, happy, and silly, and I think these photos captured that beautifully. This milestone session wasn’t just about celebrating Annika turning one—it was about freezing this exact stage of life. The stage where shakers, light-up toys, and big brother’s antics bring endless giggles. The stage where the littlest things spark the biggest smiles. The stage that passes by faster than we realize.
