Meredith came into the studio at five weeks old and made her presence known right away. She was alert, expressive, and full of personality, which made her newborn session incredibly special. While many people imagine newborn sessions as quiet and sleepy, Meredith reminded us that there is just as much beauty in capturing a baby exactly as they are in the moment.
Her parents, Marjory and Duncan, booked their session at the last minute, and I was so glad I was able to get them on the schedule. Meredith was definitely opinionated throughout her session, and that is always welcome in my studio. Newborn sessions are baby led, and following her cues allowed us to capture honest expressions and genuine moments. Some of the sweetest images came from simply giving her space to be herself, whether she was calm, curious, or letting us know she had her own ideas.
