Cave Springs, AR – 9-Month Milestone Session
There’s just something about a baby at 9 months old—their personality is starting to shine through, they’re mastering new skills daily, and their expressions are absolutely priceless. Annika’s milestone session was the perfect example of all of that (and then some)!
Her sweet mama brought her in to capture this special stage—those tiny toes, gummy grins, and her fun-loving personality. Big brother Bohan came along too, and while he wasn’t originally the focus of the session, he decided he had to be in a few photos—and I’m so glad he did! These sibling moments are always so special, especially at this age when they’re still getting to know each other in their own sweet way.
When they arrived at the studio, Annika wasn’t quite sure what to make of me. (Let’s be honest—I get that a lot. 😄) She wasn’t too keen on me touching her and was feeling a little sleepy. But with a bit of patience and lots of encouragement from Mom and Bohan, we got those joyful smiles that light up a room. Even the sleepy ones have their moments—and Annika definitely gave us some good ones.
For this baby portrait session, Mom chose the most gorgeous backdrops—Tangelo and Bone from Savage Seamless. They were perfect choices. The orange tones of Tangelo paired with her bright blue eyes and her sweet little outfit created an absolute showstopper of a look. It felt summery, feminine, and full of life—exactly what Mom was hoping for. And the neutral Bone backdrop let her creamy dress and flower crown take center stage in such a timeless way.
We kept the styling simple but thoughtful—Annika’s outfits matched the soft, feminine, and playful vibe Mom envisioned, and everything tied together beautifully. One of my favorite moments was watching Bohan gently hold his little sister for a few portraits. He looked so proud, and their sibling connection shone through in the most subtle, honest way.
From scooting around to sitting like a champ, Annika is hitting those big 9-month milestones, and it was such an honor to document this chapter for her family. These milestone sessions are more than just photos—they’re little time capsules of your baby’s journey and the relationships that grow with them.
Mom described Annika as talkative and happy, and she absolutely is. Even when she wasn’t sure about me, her bright eyes and expressive face gave us so much to work with.
