Studio Newborn Session Highlights
Some sessions leave you smiling long after you’ve packed up the camera — and Etta’s studio newborn session was one of those. This sweet little girl came into the studio wide-eyed and curious, determined to stay awake for family portraits and part of her solo time, as if she didn’t want to miss a single second.
It feels like just yesterday that I photographed her big brother, Clem, as a tiny newborn almost three years ago. Seeing him again — now bigger, braver, and absolutely smitten with his baby sister — was such a joy. Watching him gently hold her and steal little glances of awe made my heart swell.
But this studio newborn session was layered with something deeper.
Honoring Georgia
Etta’s mom, Tori, is one of the most loving, attentive mothers I’ve ever met. Throughout the studio newborn session, she made sure every detail was perfect, but her heart carried something more — the memory of Georgia, their firstborn daughter, who was stillborn almost four years ago.
Including Georgia in this session was important. For Tori, holding her first living daughter brought a flood of emotions — love, joy, and bittersweet longing. At one point, she wondered aloud what Georgia would look like today and how she might interact with her siblings.
When Tori received her proofing gallery, she messaged me saying she couldn’t stop crying — not just because the images were beautiful, but because they captured the life she’s living now, while honoring the daughter she’ll always carry in her heart.
