When Morgan first reached out on a Sunday morning, she shared that they hadn’t managed to schedule newborn portraits for their sweet boy, Hayden Gene, just yet—and she was hoping I might have a spot open. Luckily, I had an opening that Wednesday morning, and we made it happen! I could instantly tell how much this session meant to them, and I was so honored to provide NWA newborn portraits for their growing family.
During the session, Morgan admitted she was feeling a little anxious (which is so normal, by the way). I reassured her that all the little things she was worried about were completely typical for newborns. As a mom myself, I know those early days can be full of uncertainty, but I always remind parents that their babies are perfect just as they are—and my job is to help capture that perfection in the most beautiful way possible through timeless NWA newborn portraits.
As we chatted, Morgan and her husband, Sheldon, shared that Hayden made his grand entrance into the world at home. Their birth story was incredible—peaceful, quick, and filled with love. Hayden arrived within just six hours, and his parents were instantly smitten. There’s something so special about home births; they carry this sense of intimacy and calm that you can feel even weeks later during the session.
For Hayden’s setup, Morgan requested earth tones—simple, timeless, and warm, just like the rustic farm nursery they’ve created for him. Those rich, natural colors photographed beautifully and complemented Hayden’s sweet little features perfectly.
One unique detail from Hayden’s birth was a small bump and some bruising on his head, which is very common for newborns. I reminded Morgan that editing can easily take care of those little marks so she can enjoy flawless, heirloom portraits without worry.
And here’s a fun full-circle moment—while chatting, we realized I had actually photographed their sister-in-law’s motherhood session the very same day Hayden was born! What a small, wonderful world. I love when those connections happen—it reminds me just how meaningful this work truly is.
Hayden was an absolute dream throughout the session. He snoozed so sweetly and made my job easy. We moved through the setups quickly, getting all those precious wrapped poses and even a few family portraits that radiate pure joy and love.
It was such a blessing to capture this milestone for Morgan and Sheldon. Their session reminded me how precious these early days are—the tiny toes, the sleepy smiles, the proud parents beaming over their new baby boy.
