Welcome to the World, Tharren

Studio Newborn Session

There’s something truly special about reconnecting with families as they grow, and I was thrilled to welcome Hailey and Kyle back to the studio after meeting them during my 2023 Santa Minis. This time, they were back with their newest addition—sweet baby Tharren.

Hailey reached out just weeks before Tharren was due, but this mama meant business—she ended up booking sessions with me for the next two years. I knew right away she was my kind of client!

When Tharren arrived, his parents told me he slept all the time. Naturally, he decided to prove them wrong the minute he walked into my studio. Our session lasted a full four hours and included eight individual setups for Tharren alone, plus sibling portraits with big brother Thatcher (who’s 5) and a full round of family portraits. It was a full house and a full-hearted kind of day.

Hailey shared she’s obsessed with all things Disney, so I rushed-ordered some special newborn-sized Disney props just for Tharren. While he wasn’t a fan of being unclothed or unwrapped, once we got him dressed for family portraits, he completely melted into sleep—so we ran with it! He spent the rest of his session bundled up and cozy, and from that point on, he rocked every setup like a pro.

We kept the colors classic and timeless with green and cream tones, which are the same shades Hailey is leaning toward for Tharren’s nursery. The calm, earthy palette paired beautifully with the studio’s textures and lighting, and Tharren looked perfect in every setup.

Big brother Thatcher took a little time to warm up (as Hailey mentioned he might), but once he was comfortable, he was such a sweetheart with his baby brother. The sibling shots we captured are some of my favorites—they reflect that gentle bond that’s just beginning to form but already feels strong.

To Hailey and Kyle—thank you for trusting me again with your family’s memories. And welcome, little Tharren. You may have kept us all on our toes, but you were worth every minute.
