Jaden’s Cave Springs Newborn Portrait Session
Sweet little Jaden made his way into my Cave Springs studio recently for his newborn portrait session, and let me just say—what a dream he turned out to be. His mom first reached out to me through Facebook Messenger, and after chatting back and forth for a few days, we settled on a date that worked for everyone. By the time his session came around, Jaden was already over a month old.
Many parents worry that they’ve “missed the window” if their baby is past those first couple of weeks, but I love to reassure families that beautiful portraits are still absolutely possible with a little patience and care. Jaden’s gallery is proof of that.
His family chose my classic newborn session, which includes family portraits, sibling portraits, and of course, individual images of the baby. I always ask my family’s if they have a favorite prop or style in mind, and Jaden’s mom mentioned right away that she loved the little bear bonnet. So naturally, we designed his session around that. I paired the bonnet with cozy tones of blues and browns to keep everything timeless, soft, and sweet.
Jaden may have been a month old, but once he was asleep, he settled right in and let me pose him without a fuss. The only time he let out a little protest was when I unwrapped him for the bed prop—he was definitely not a fan of being disturbed! But a little snuggle, some soothing, and he was right back to sleep, ready for the next setup. His parents were so relieved, especially since they admitted they were nervous he’d cry through the whole session, and we wouldn’t get any images. Instead, they left with a full gallery of memories they’ll treasure forever.
Every baby, whether they’re 6 days or 6 weeks old, has their own unique personality and rhythm. My job is simply to meet them where they’re at and create a calm, safe space where parents can relax and trust the process. And just like Jaden’s family discovered, with patience and love, the results are always worth it.
