Jaden’s Cave Springs Newborn Portrait Session

Sweet little Jaden recently visited my Cave Springs studio for his newborn portrait session, and he truly was a dream to photograph. His mom first reached out through Facebook Messenger, and after a few messages back and forth, we chose a date that worked perfectly for everyone. By the time his session arrived, Jaden was already over a month old.

Many parents worry they’ve “missed the window” once their baby passes those early newborn days, but that couldn’t be further from the truth. With a little patience and flexibility, beautiful, timeless portraits are still absolutely possible—and Jaden’s gallery is the perfect example.

His family chose my classic newborn session, which includes family portraits, sibling portraits, and individual images of baby. I always ask parents if they have a favorite prop or style in mind, and Jaden’s mom immediately mentioned she loved a little bear bonnet. From there, we designed his session around that idea, pairing the bonnet with soft blues and warm browns for a timeless, cozy feel.

Even though Jaden was over a month old, once he settled into a deep sleep, he allowed me to gently pose him without much fuss. The only moment of protest came when we unwrapped him for one of the prop setups—he definitely preferred being cozy and swaddled. After a little soothing and comfort, he drifted right back to sleep and let us continue creating.

His parents were so relieved, especially since they had been nervous he might cry through the entire session. Instead, they walked away with a full gallery of peaceful, beautiful memories they’ll treasure for years to come.

Every baby—whether they are 6 days or 6 weeks old—has their own rhythm and personality. My job is simply to meet them where they are, create a calm and safe environment, and guide the session with patience and care. Jaden’s session is a perfect reminder that beautiful images always come when babies are given the time and space they need.
