Studio Newborn Photo Session
Every once in a while, a baby comes into the studio and completely steals my heart in their newborn photo session. Florence was one of those babies. At just 7 days new, she was a tiny bundle of sweetness who reminded me exactly why I love photographing newborns so much.
Details of The Newborn Photo Session
Florence came in as part of a model call while I was testing out some new ideas. From the moment her parents walked through the door, I could see how smitten they were. The way they looked at her—the quiet smiles, the little glances back and forth—said it all. She was already their whole world, wrapped up in the tiniest package.
And Florence? She was an absolute dream. She slept soundly from start to finish, not making a peep the entire session. Every little movement, every curl of her fingers, every tiny sigh felt like pure magic. She let me pose her with ease, and it was as if she knew she was helping create something her parents would treasure forever.
Usually, newborn sessions take a couple of hours as we patiently work with babies through feeding breaks, cuddles, and soothing. But Florence surprised me. She flowed through my entire newborn workflow in what felt like no time at all—around 30 minutes! It gave us the chance to try new things, and every single pose highlighted just how perfectly delicate and beautiful she is.
Dressed in soft lace with a dainty little headband, Florence looked like she belonged in a dream. Her tiny toes, her squishy cheeks, and the peaceful expression on her face reminded me of just how fleeting these newborn days are. They go by in the blink of an eye, but the photographs hold onto them forever.
Florence, you were the sweetest little gift to spend an afternoon with, and to her parents—thank you for letting me witness and capture the beginning of your story with her. These moments will be cherished for years to come, long after she’s grown out of your arms and into the world.
