NWA Fine Art Motherhood Session
A few years ago, Megan and her sweet Ramsay Rose walked into my studio for their fine art motherhood session. At the time, I had just returned home from London after attending Natasha Ince’s incredible workshop on fine art maternity and motherhood photography. I was overflowing with inspiration and ready to pour everything I had learned into my own work.
Those first portraits of Megan and Ramsay Rose were some of my favorites. They were soft, elegant, and timeless—the kind of images that make you stop and feel the love between a mother and her child.
But here’s the thing about art—it evolves. Over the last few years, my editing style has shifted, grown, and refined itself into what you see now. Recently, I revisited their session with fresh eyes and re-edited the entire gallery. And let me tell you, it was magical to see the transformation.
When I sent the updated gallery to Megan, she couldn’t stop thinking about two particular images. They weren’t part of the original collection she had purchased years ago, but after seeing them in this new light, she just knew she had to have them. She reached out and asked if it was possible to purchase them now, and of course, the answer was yes.
This is such an important reminder for all of my clients: if you don’t purchase every image from your gallery at the start, you can always come back later. Sometimes it takes a little distance, a little change of perspective, or just the passing of time to see an image for the treasure it truly is. And I’m always happy to reopen a gallery and make those memories yours whenever you’re ready.
Megan’s decision warmed my heart because it proves what I’ve always believed—photographs only grow more valuable with time. The little details you might overlook today will become the very things you cherish tomorrow.
So if you’ve ever sat staring at your gallery, torn between which images to choose, please know that the door is always open. Your family’s story deserves to be preserved in the way that feels right for you—whether that’s today or years down the road.
