When Samantha reached out, she knew exactly what she wanted — timeless heirloom + personality portraits of her boys, Beau and Carson, with just a hint of their big, playful personalities shining through. She’d seen her nephew’s heirloom portraits and decided it was finally time for her own boys to have their turn in front of the camera.
Beau, at four and a half, started the morning off just how I expected — a little shy, but curious. He quietly took everything in before warming up with that classic grin that could melt anyone’s heart. Carson, on the other hand, was full of two-year-old energy and not quite sure about the camera at first. But once he saw his big brother having fun, he jumped right in and gave us the most charming smiles (and a few mischievous giggles too!).
The boys love trucks, planes, and anything that moves — and I could see that adventurous energy in how they interacted with each other. Whether Carson was trying to make everyone laugh or Beau was showing off his “big brother” patience, their bond was undeniable.
Mom wanted a mix of traditional heirloom portraits and natural, personality-filled moments — and I love that combination. The result was a session filled with both grace and authenticity. Their classic white outfits and the soft, muted tones gave their portraits that timeless heirloom feel, while their expressions kept things real and full of life.
And of course, the best part (according to Beau and Carson) — the prizes at the end! They left the studio smiling ear to ear, feeling proud of themselves and ready to show off their portraits.
