Some babies enter the world with a story already blooming around them, and little Guinevere Belle is one of those babies. Her family booked her newborn session just days before she arrived, which made her session feel even more special. I photographed her beautiful mama during her maternity session, and at the time, she wasn’t totally sure if a newborn session would feel doable after her planned C-section.
As a mom myself, I completely understand that hesitation. Recovery can feel so different from one birth to another, and the unknowns of those first days can be overwhelming. We talked through it during her maternity session, and I reassured her that with a planned c-section, moms typically recover quicker, move more easily, and feel more like themselves much sooner than they expect.
And sure enough, when Jennifer walked into the studio just eight days after delivery, she was glowing, moving comfortably, and so ready to love on her babies in front of the camera.
Guinevere, the Sweetest Little Dreamer
From the moment she arrived, baby Guinevere was simply perfect. She was soft, cozy, and sleepy, with the sweetest baby lips and the most peaceful expressions. She had a definite opinion about her hands being touched (which is honestly one of the most common newborn preferences), but she settled easily into every pose and looked absolutely angelic in every setup.
Her mama chose a soft, feminine color palette for her session—
white, ivory, blush pink, lace, pearls, and delicate girly details—
which couldn’t have fit Guinevere more beautifully.
We used a mix of classic neutrals and floral elements, balancing dreamy textures with simplicity for a timeless gallery her family will treasure forever.
A Big Brother Who Already Adores Her
One of Jennifer’s biggest hopes for the session was capturing big brother Gunther loving on his new baby sister. He’s five, sweet, and full of that gentle curiosity older siblings often have when a new baby arrives.
And he absolutely delivered.
Gunther held Guinevere so proudly, smiling at her with genuine adoration. Their sibling portraits turned out to be some of my very favorites from the entire session. Those images have “lifelong keepsake” written all over them.
A Quick Note for New Moms (Because We All Worry)
Right before their session, Guinevere’s tear duct became a little blocked, and her mom was worried. This happens all the time with newborns, and I reassured her that it’s incredibly common. Of course, I always encourage parents to chat with their pediatrician if they ever feel unsure, but I also want every parent who walks into my studio to feel safe, supported, and confident.
We still captured her perfectly. Those tiny details—little eyelash curls, sleepy faces, baby-soft cheeks—are all part of their story.
A Session Filled with Peace, Gratitude, and Love
What I loved most about this session was how calm and connected it felt. Forrest and Jennifer were relaxed, big brother was patient and proud, and Guinevere was content the entire time. The whole session had that soft, warm energy that makes photographing newborns one of my greatest joys.
Their images feel timeless and gentle, and each one reflects the love surrounding this sweet girl from day one.
