A Beautiful Beginning for Baby Guinevere
Some babies enter the world with a story already blooming around them, and little Guinevere Belle is one of those babies. Her family booked her newborn session just days before she arrived, making it feel even more special. I had the joy of photographing her beautiful mama during her maternity session, and at the time, she wasn’t completely sure whether a newborn session would feel manageable after her planned c-section.
As a mom myself, I completely understood that hesitation. Recovery looks different for everyone, and those first days with a newborn can feel overwhelming. During her maternity session, we talked through her concerns, and I reassured her that many moms recovering from a planned c-section are pleasantly surprised by how quickly they begin feeling like themselves again.
Sure enough, when Jennifer walked into the studio just eight days after delivery, she was glowing, comfortable, and completely ready to soak in this special time with her family.
Guinevere, the Sweetest Little Dreamer
From the moment she arrived, Guinevere was absolutely precious. She was calm, sleepy, and cozy, with the sweetest little lips and the most peaceful expressions. She definitely had opinions about having her hands touched—which is incredibly common for newborns—but she settled beautifully into each pose and looked angelic in every setup.
Her mom selected a soft, feminine color palette featuring white, ivory, blush pink, lace, pearls, and delicate details, and it suited Guinevere perfectly.
We combined timeless neutral tones with subtle floral elements, creating a gallery that feels both elegant and classic—images her family will treasure for generations.
A Proud Big Brother
One of Jennifer’s biggest hopes for the session was capturing big brother Gunther loving on his new baby sister. At five years old, he brought such a gentle sweetness to the session.
And he absolutely delivered.
Gunther held Guinevere so proudly, smiling at her with genuine love and curiosity. Their sibling portraits became some of my favorite images from the entire session. They’re the kind of photographs that only become more meaningful with time.
A Little Reassurance for New Moms
Just before the session, Guinevere developed a slightly blocked tear duct, and understandably, her mom was concerned. The good news is that this is incredibly common with newborns. While I always encourage parents to reach out to their pediatrician with any medical concerns, I also want every family who walks into my studio to feel safe, supported, and confident.
Her tiny tear duct didn’t stop us from creating beautiful portraits. Those little newborn details—sleepy eyes, tiny lashes, soft cheeks, and delicate expressions—are all part of her story.
A Session Filled with Love
What I loved most about this session was how peaceful and connected it felt. Forrest and Jennifer were relaxed, Gunther was patient and proud, and Guinevere remained content throughout the entire session.
The studio was filled with the kind of quiet joy that makes newborn photography so meaningful. Every image reflects the love surrounding this sweet little girl from the very beginning.
