There is something so special about meeting a new family for the very first time, and the Campbell family made their family studio session unforgettable in the best way. Danielle reached out wanting updated portraits of her four sweet kids — Harper (7), Charlie (5), Ruby (2.5), and Emma (1) — and decided they wanted to try a studio session for their annual family photos this year.
And let me just say… they jumped right into the chaos of studio life like naturals.
Their questionnaire described them as “goofy,” and honestly, I couldn’t agree more. From silly jokes to Pokémon talk to Disney princess chatter, the kids kept me laughing the entire time.

Here’s the thing about older kiddos: they are SO good at following directions. They’ll sit where you tell them to, stand how you want, stay still… and the moment you say “Okay, now smile!” — boom. Their face suddenly forgets how to smile like a normal human.
It’s universal. It’s hilarious. And yes, it happened here too.
During our first session, the photos were beautiful, but I could tell Danielle wasn’t quite as happy as I wanted her to be. And if a mom isn’t fully satisfied, then I’m not done. So I invited them back for a second session to get those natural smiles and expressions we were really aiming for.
Round two delivered. The kids relaxed more, the smiles came easier, and we captured exactly what Danielle hoped for.
